NATURAL PHENOMENA SERIES

“Natural Phenomena” is a series of 16 oil paintings on canvas made from 2010 to 2013.


By “Natural” I mean events fomented by “the forces of nature” —the combined and cumulative effects of physics and biology on the Earth. By “Phenomena” I mean the unimaginable range of ongoing interactions of the elements of the cosmos and this world, both awesome and mundane, powerful and subtle, both experienced by us and unknown to us. I am not painting the pieces of the world, I am painting the relationships between forces and objects.
