A series of small oil paintings on canvas on panel from 2022

Like a previous series, Postcards from the Future, these intimate paintings are a vehicle; a physical image of information, an implied method of transmission, a source and destination. Unlike digital messages they have substance in real time, and are to be read as representations of metaphorical geologic information.

Like the Postcards series, evidence of the visible support (the painted panel that is also part of the image) anchors the work in the present reality. They are paintings and documents like a map of past and future vision. But the map is not the territory.
